Why Belize?: Things to do!, Belize Tropical Dream Villas

A few weeks ago we starting posts about why we chose Belize. Today we end those posts with the obvious reason. Things to do in Belize.

So what can you do, what is available and about what price ranges will it run you. First on price, Most every tour operator here in Belize will always show you prices in USD. This can be confusing and its important to note. As we discussed in earlier posts, all stores and eateries, will show their prices in BZD. Not so for most tour guides as its really only the vacationers that use them. Don’t book a trip thinking its 40 usd when the price on the wall says 80. Most tour guides will tell you its USD when they quote you a price.

The first and most obvious on the list of things to do is pretty much anything that has to do with the water. Fishing, Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Jet skis, Sailing and that’s just to name a few. There are a hundred things you can get into when it comes to the water.

One of our favorite places to chill out is Palapa Bar. Great drinks decent food, and most of all, tubes where you can just float in the ocean and have the bar staff pass you down cold drink after cold drink.

My personal favorite thing to do on the island is just cruising in the golf cart. You never know what you’ll find as far as food or drinks or even just that quaint little gift shop that has what you always needed but never knew until you found it.

Of course there are other things to do on the island like skydiving, which Lisa seems hell bent to do, I’m sure I have an appointment to be sick that day so I’ll let her go. But I understand that skydiving the blue hole is truly a magnificent sight.

Now, let us talk a bit about on the mainland. There are plenty of tours from the island to the mainland that include both travel and lunch for the day.

There are 3 main Mayan complexes in Belize, Cahal Pech, Xunatunich, Carcol Mayan ruins, however there are many other ruins with some important features in their own rights as well.

ATM cave tour with is one of the most splendid experiences you will ever have in your life is located further inland. This cave tour will have you spend about 75% of your time waist deep in water and surrounded by 1000 year old pottery. Truly a magnificent experience.

Cave tubing. Like tubing on the river? like caves? why not do both at the same time.

ATV tours, take a tour on your own atv through the jungle. Maybe even do a zip line or two.

How about a cooking class, you can take classes in traditional Belizean, Mayan, or Mexican cooking, and we even have classes on making an using chocolate. Oh yeah, Belize has some amazing chocolate.

And lets not forget the beaches, once you have had your fill of excitement you can recharge at the beach.

As always, please feel free to ask any questions and we look forward to helping you vacation like you live here.
