The Truck Stop – Belize’s first shipping container food park and beer garden – offers a wide range of entertainment options served up with their variety of great food and drinks!
Wednesday nights at the Truck Stop mean movie night. With a giant screen which overlooks the bay side of the island, you can take in a classic movie or something more modern while sitting in the pool or in the deck chairs beside it. Sometimes there are special offers on food and drinks as well, so you can be sure to enjoy yourself mid-week. They also show family-friendly and holiday movies.
If it is live music you are after, you will find a host of local artists and bands playing on the weekends. Current regulars include local musician Brent Butcher and reggae band Dennis Wolfe and the Beach Monks.
Also taking place on Sundays is the weekly cornhole competition! What’s Cornhole you ask? Cornhole is a game where players take turns to try and throw small bean bags through a hole on a raised platform; you get points for getting it through the hole as well as if it lands on the platform. Even if you have never played before, the staff will teach you – and you know what they say about “Beginner’s Luck” so, there’s no better time to learn! If your team wins the competition, you win the jackpot prize of a bar tab of $100! Even if you place second, you will still get a free bucket of beers!
A monthly highlight event is the farmers market. The Truck Stop uses local produce in their food and drinks, and also gives the producers a chance to showcase their products for people to buy. In addition, you will find locally made artistic items from jewellery to soap to even ornaments! A great place to shop for those souvenir items to take home with you. Other weekly events to attend include Family Feud and Truck Stop Trivia nights! Ready to see how much useless knowledge can fit in your wallet? Each week we invite our guests to join our “Tropical Dream Team” for Trivia Night on Thursdays. It’s a great time to meet and visit with other guests staying at our property as well as other visitors and locals alike! It’s always a fun night out with a friendly competition that tests your random knowledge of movies/music/science/geography (we can use all the help we can get in these categories) and more movie trivia! Only $5BZD per player with the winning team splitting the pot!
